Bahá’ís work to build community and advance the processes towards peace in United States and around the world. We are dedicated to creating a peaceful and prosperous world civilization that is based on justice and that provides all human beings with scope to cultivate and express their capacities.
These efforts have two main prongs:
— Grassroots community development projects that address the spiritual and material needs of the community and build the capacity of individuals to participate in creating a better world. The aim is empowerment from the grassroots up, not the prescription of solutions from the top down. The individual is placed at the center of the development process.
— Diplomatic and public policy initiatives in collaboration with governments and like-minded organizations, principally in the areas of human rights, the advancement of women and sustainable development.
“The betterment of the world can be accomplished through pure and goodly deeds, through commendable and seemly conduct.”
— Bahá’u’lláh
